Summer Academy
Founded in 2016 at the initiative of Laure-Carlyne Crouzet and Benjamin Ingrao, the Sublime Baroque Summer Academy is an annual event bringing together musicians and singers from all backgrounds, from dedicated amateurs to professionals, as well as students preparing for professional careers.
Supervised by artists renowned in France and internationally in the field of early music, this academy offers a unique opportunity to experience a week of total immersion in a rich and ambitious repertoire of Renaissance and Baroque works performed on historical instruments.
The academy culminates in two final performances: a chamber music concert and a closing concert featuring choir and orchestra.
The Academy is structured around two main components:
On the one hand, the training of an advanced amateur choir, rehearsing together daily in preparation for the closing concert, with work focusing equally on technique, musical interpretation, and artistic expression.
D’autre part, un programme intensif et complet proposé à des élèves et étudiant·es, à partir du niveau 3e On the other hand, an intensive and comprehensive programme designed for pupils and students from advanced level onwards, including individual lessons, chamber music, orchestra, and vocal ensembles.

Alongside a demanding musical practice, the Academy offers a rich, meaningful, and memorable human experience through the study of specific repertoires alongside prestigious artists, as well as exchanges between musicians from diverse backgrounds, all within a serious yet warm, friendly, and supportive atmosphere.

Choristers
9:15 - 12:15 / 16:15 – 19:15 Vocal technique work and rehearsals on the concert repertoire, under the
direction of conductor Adrian Rodriguez Van der Spoel, with vocal coaching
from the singing teachers.
The musical team reserves the right to schedule additional evening
rehearsals (from 20:00 to 21:30).
Instrumentalists and Solo Singers
9:15 - 12:15 Individual lessons, work on solo repertoire, and technical training. Each
participant brings their own chosen repertoire.
16:15 – 19:15 Chamber music (singers and instrumentalists)*, followed by orchestra
rehearsals and vocal ensembles for singers.
The musical team reserves the right to schedule additional evening
rehearsals (from 20:00 to 21:30).
*Note for solo singers : chamber music groups are formed based on video audition
submissions, depending on the participants’ sight-reading level and following a preliminary
exchange with the singing teachers. The assignment of solo parts for the orchestral
programme is determined during the conductor’s audition at the beginning of the course.
Required level :
Choristers
Regular experience in choral singing is required in order to fully
engage with the works in the academy. You will be provided
with sheet music and audio files to help you learn and prepare
the pieces before arriving at the academy.
Instrumentalists
The workshop is open to musicians from intermediate level up
to pre-professional level, as well as modern instrumentalists
who wish to discover and improve their skills in Baroque musice .
Each participant is invited to contact their instrument teacher
by email to : contact@musicastera.fr (Please indicate the relevant teacher’s name in the subject line of your message), in order to help us prepare the academy more effectively. Classes will open with a minimum of 6 registered participants. The tuning pitch for the entire academy is A = 415 Hz.
Solo Singers
The workshop is open to 8 participants at an advancede pre-professional, or higher education level (all voice types),
selected after submitting videos at the time of registration.

Dates
The Summer Academy will take place from August 17 to 22, 2026.
Accommodation
Accommodation for the week is available for academy participants, with full board included (meals provided). Please note that towels are not provided.
If you do not wish to stay on site, a half-board option is available (either all meals on site, or lunch only / dinner only).
The accommodation option can be selected during registration.
Travel
Carpooling options are available to travel to the Academy venue.
